Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Pr.14: 34.
The pleasures of sin are enjoyed only for a season (Heb.11: 25), and then it begins to affect your whole being. Sins destructive power affects your mental, emotional, physical and above all our spiritual health and condition.
The consequences of sin are conceived the moment one chooses to sin but we don’t meet up with them (consequences) until they’re full grown. Sin with its destructive force and power to ruin individuals, families, communities and nations is taken very lightly today. Sin is like the fungus on a tree. Fungus does not just simple live innocently on the bark of a tree. It feeds on the internal parts of the tree, draining the life completely out of it.
This is exactly what sin does in the life of a “Sinner” or in fact in the life of the “Believer” if it isn’t dealt with. The fungus of sin’s festering presence has the invasive power to work on the inner man and causing it to die. It mars, destroys and causes death to everything that comes within its grasp. Only the shed Blood of Jesus can kill the fungus of sin…If sin still has dominion over a person that is good evidence that The Cross of Christ does not have its rightful place in their heart…It is by and through the Cross that sin is defeated…”For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace”. Romans 6:14.
